Arboretum at McGuire VA dedicated to ‘fearless’ Phyllis Galanti
On National POW/MIA recognition day. Dave Brat attended the dedication of the Phyllis Galanti Arboretum, named for Galanti’s late wife, at McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Richmond.
The arboretum was named in honor of Phyllis Galanti after Rep. Brat’s resolution was passed in both the House and Senate, and signed into law by the President Obama on December 18, 2015.
“Fearless “Phyllis was a tireless advocate for POW’s rights after her husband Paul Galanti became a prisoner when his plane was shot down over North Vietnam in 1966. The arboretum is a beautiful place to honor her strength and spirit and commitment to veterans and the military.
